It’s time to get away. Time to take a break from the hustle and noise. Time to rest - reflect - retreat.

As the Branch prepares for its second fall retreat, we have two hopes. First, we want this weekend to be a time for people to build community, and there's something unique that happens when we break away from our normal routines and spend time together.

Second, we want to reflect on what it means to be an extended family on mission. How does mission become a sustainable part of our everyday lives, instead of something we try to add on to our already crazy schedules? It's a big question -- one that's not easy to answer in the midst of the daily grind -- and so...you guessed it...we're getting away.

DETAILS

The retreat begins at 7pm on Friday, the 3rd. We wrap up on Sunday at 10am (although you're welcome to hang at Cran-Hill longer on Sunday if you'd like). We'll post a schedule in the coming weeks.

Most lodging is bunk house style (the exception are a few campsites we have access to. If you want to camp -- please let us know). We'll do our best to keep your family together if you'd prefer, or we'll also have a couple of gender-based rooms. Let us know you're needs and we'll work hard to make it work.

The schedule is balanced between times of prayer and reflection and free time. During the free time we'll have some planned activities (some activiites are free, while others are available for a small cost). But these times will also be a chance to simply hang out, play games or read a book, have conversation and build relationships (or just take a nap!). We're working hard to make sure this is a retreat.

We'll be sending out a menu the week of September 29. It's a menu that takes into account a variety of dietary needs. You're also welcome to bring snacks.

We'll be providing childcare for younger kiddos during our times of teaching and reflection. This is included in the cost. That said -- we're designing the weekend to be kid friendly and then some. Our hope is that kiddos (our oldest for sure) will lend their voice as we think through mission together.
